Do not use the method String.contains, as it also finds letter combinations within a word. Example: For glossary term "controller", add abbreviation "C". Then the list of "glossary occurences" immediately increases from 4 entries to all objects in the analysis node.

Instead:
Have a look at ConnectionHighlightScanner
It uses the MiraWordRule for the detection of words.
It contains a method HighlightUtils.match that also analyses surounding words
